2005-06 TERRAPIN BASKETBALL NERVE CENTER SENIOR STAFF

Defense

You would think going over 90 on the road in regulation gets you a win. You would think that if three of your starters shoot at least 50% (and a fourth going 5-110 you get the win. You would think going 10-26 from 3 would be enough.

The again, getting outrebounded by 17 and the other team makes 39 free throws is a kick in the short hairs.

4-12 on the road in the ACC over the last 2+ years. 1-3 in conference play. 7-5 puts them to .500 and likely a bid to the big dance.

Sigh, its hard to get overly emotional when you have seen this same show the last few years. Time heals all wounds but I have lots of mental scars that are still there.

Talk to me folks, what can they do???

it's official. we are not a very good basketball team. i hate to say it but it's true. i stopped watching the virginia game before half. i've seen this same game 50 times over the past 3 years.

our players have a combined basketball IQ of 3 and i have no confidence in them. in fact, you have to be emotionally dead to get through an entire game and like it or not, they don't play solid basketball. it's not fun to watch...painful in fact.

that's all i have to say about that.
see you next year.

It was fairly plain to see after the BC game...we are not that far removed from the suckass NIT teams of yore...90% of it mental. these boys are just not that bright. the only thing keeping me from throwing in the towel is that someone on the terp board had previously charted Md's path to a 9-7 season. In it he included losses to BC and VT...so we are only one Miami shitbrick game off of his pace.

It's possible, but not probable. The terps are borderline mediocre and don't have the mental or physical makeup to do anything in any post season tourney.

If Hayes doesn't start next game then Gary is offically a turdnut, and his days will be numbered, regardless of his recent contract extention. I will take it as a sign he has officially lost it.

I'm still giving this team a chance to develop. Talent wise, the pieces are there.

What they lack, however, is confidence. No confidence leads to hesitation. Hesitation leads to turnovers and not crashing the boards.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

The Terps went 22-26 in ACC play the past three years, and are about to go to 1-4 this year. The program is not getting any better. Some of these guys have absolutely no basketball IQ whatsoever. Unfortunately, most of these guys are our seniors, who are supposed to be the team leaders. You have to hope next year will be better somehow. But it has been disheartening to see the Terps become such a mediocre program after the glory of the '02 championship.

yes, yes and double yes. (insert "vodka" for "yes" at will)

doubles on the house before sundays VT matchup. do we win? who the hell knows. for three years i can't answer this question. know one knows. the terps are are as sketchy as a midget in a pickle jar. if i say we win, then they lose and i drain the mini bar.

we CAN do it, but WILL we....
