The Gist is, we suck

See ya Seniors - If the Terps were a pro team, it would be time to look at the youngsters and bench the so-called established players. The upper classmen have had 3-4 years to show their wares and the results are wanting. Three straight NIT's are looming and with the National Title and strong results in the not so distant future, this current situation seems even more bleak. Only Gist amongst the upper classmen is seemingly playing to their perceived level (and he has really taken his scoring up a notch the last few games).

No defense - I can understand letting a Duke team of Brand, Battier and JWill shoot like that but FSU? The open looks were staggering, like the entire Seminoles squad had a cold we didn't want to catch. They made 30 of their first 43 shots, not sure I have ever heard of something like that outside of a video game.

Hayes - Doesn't it seem like the team's woes can be traced back to when Hayes was benched?

Gary - Something is simply not right. Maybe its the players not living up to their expectations. Maybe Gary has lost the fire (though I doubt it). Maybe the rest of the league has improved (No, if anything its gotten worse). Maybe its the massive swings in recruting class sizes, going 1-2 years with no players and 7-8 in the others. Maybe its just bad luck. Maybe it just doesn't matter anymore because this is insane.

In an era when the league, let alone the nation, is so wide open the notion that Maryland is 2-5 in conference (and without having played UNC or Duke) is baffling. Call Billy Hahn. Bring out the yellow uni's. Let Osby start. Do something.
