2005-06 TERRAPIN BASKETBALL NERVE CENTER SENIOR STAFF

Losing to the weak link

Gary, I think I speak for Many Terps fans out there when I say, whatever you do going forward, please stop bringing in the athletes who get by on their god-given talent and you don't relate too. The guys who will run through a wall to get better, like Dixon, Baxter, Nicholas and DJ, that should be your go-to style. When you won the title, you had one athlete type (Wilcox) surronded by a bunch of lunch pail types. Now its the other way around.

Remember when the Big East Teams came over and everyone said that VT would be a big help in tossing the pigskin around but a weak sister with hoops? For the Terps that had been the case, until this year.

What can one say that hasnt been utterted time and again. Our bigs don't show every night. The young point guards are just that, young. The team can't shoot and has no go-to player down the stretch.

Both at the end of regulation and and in OT, the plays run seemed so disjointed, not a shock when you don't have one guy who has a go-t- move and the will (guts?) to take the final shot. Will/guts might be unfair because DJ and Vasquez are willing but heaves don't count. The young point guards aren't assertive enough down the stretch but I guess that's where you rely on the seniors...ugh

I thought getting rid of the Caner/Garrison class would solve all ills and while it took care of some, they can't be blamed for the lack of progress for Jones and Ibekwe.

Thank you Terps for losing! Whew. I was so sure you were going to win and and give me hope again, only to pull the rug out from under me next week ushering me yet again into the throws of my bi-weekly terp laced depression...mired in a downward spiral of mild Tourette spasms and uncontrollable binge drinking.

Because you lost, again, I can continue not caring about your unspiring, emotionally deadening performances. Now I can remain unattached... free from the clutches of your manic depressive suck ass mediocrity. Thank you so much for sparing me the misery of believing in you. I feel absolutely craptastic.

lay off the rice wine s.fincter. you sound like a sissy bitch. did you go see my therapist yet? she's good. and no, she does not give a happy ending.

but i hear ya. the terps are not good. i thought they would win to, only to string me along for a little bit, then bite me in the ass again once i started believing. that's what they do best. dissappoint me in a freakishly consistant yoyo-like, been there done that manner.

i have no emotional attachment to them anymore. i watch, but i watch without emotion. like a scorned 5 year old girl who didn't get a pony for her birthday, i've built my walls up. i refuse to let them take me down any more. i watch expecting them to blow it, probably just to spare myself the heartache when they inevitably do blow it.

i'm already looking ahead to next year and am not excited.

but this is the terps man. mark my words. they will win the next 5 in a row, make us believe in them, then lose to shitass NC state. then clemson. then florida state. then, at 7-8 in the conference, with only having to beat NC State again to get to the Dance, a revenge win at home...with our hopes hanging on a string, they will lose, and go to the NIT.

just thought i'd play it out for you now and save you the suffering. you're welcome. bitch.

Actually I'll take some of that rice wine to help me out with this nonsense. What is their lousy road record, 4-19? Man, bitter, bitter, bitter. I am going to the GT game but afraid what I might say or do if they don't win

C'mon guys. I thought they played pretty well. Granted, they didn't win, but they took a hot team to the wire on an away court. At least it's progress. We can win 7 more games, can't we?

I do think Hayes needs to start though. General Greivas is the spark plug we need to come off the bench.

Terp-a-tron, you are right, they played ok but thats if the game is in a vacuum. However, we saw the Miami game, we saw the UVA game, we saw last year, we saw the year before. Even in an age when the playing field is being leveled nationwide, the Terps still lack the talent and the IQ of top teams.

Patsos and Dickerson leave and the recruiting drops in many ways. No post player (and their best one - Osby - he rarely uses), no shooters (the one guy is so deficient in every other way it offsets what he can do), no solid point guard at this time, little IQ across the board. Sigh
